The AMLI Broadway Park project featured landscape and irrigation installation for an apartment building with multiple amenity decks and ground-level green spaces. This project required innovative problem-solving to meet structural demands while delivering an aesthetically pleasing and functional outdoor environment.
The amenity decks were designed to provide residents with vibrant, green spaces. However, we encountered a significant challenge with the depth of the planters. The required soil volume posed a risk of exceeding the structural load capacity.
To address this, we implemented an unconventional yet effective solution: using non-biodegradable packing peanuts to fill the bottom portions of the planters. This approach reduced the overall material weight while maintaining the necessary soil depth for healthy plant growth. The result was a structurally sound, lightweight system that supported lush vegetation without compromising the building's integrity.
Situated in RiNo, this Modern Constructors project boasts a massive pool, an expansive amenity deck, and lush ground-level landscaping that enhances the contemporary residential environment.
